How does PetChip help find my pet?
When you mark your pet as Lost in your account, we instantly flag the microchip in our system and partner databases. If anyone looks up the chip, you receive an Instant Finder Alert (SMS & email) with the finder’s contact so you can connect fast. Shelters and vets see the lost status , and your pet’s profile stays up to date for a quick reunion.
What should I do immediately after my pet is lost?
- Mark Lost in PetChip.
- Confirm your phone/email; add a recent photo.
- Enable Instant Finder Alerts.
- Call nearby shelters/vets; share your

How fast will my pet’s details be shared with shelters?
Immediately. Your pet’s status updates instantly in PetChip. When anyone looks up the chip, you get an Instant Finder Alert and they see your contact details. Shelters/vets using microchip lookups see the Lost flag right away. (Still call local shelters to be safe.)
Do I need to notify local authorities?
Yes-do it. It increases your chances and may be required in your area. Contact animal control/by-law services, and file a lost report with the microchip number, last-seen location, description, and a photo. For urgent situations (injury/traffic risk), use your local non-emergency policeline.
